2022 Club Championship

Wonderful weather dawned on us for the Club Championship; Ian Jennings and the greenkeeping team presented the course in flawless condition with beautifully defined fairways, tricky pin placements and true, fast greens!

Just under 60 members competed on the day, and the winner of the Club Championship trophy was Kevin Metcalfe for a second year in a row, with a very solid score of 73 + 73 = 146. The runner up was LSGC Captain David Paul.
The Silver Jubilee Trophy, for the best aggregate score on handicap over the two rounds, went to David Groom who beat Nigel Cattle countback, with a nett score of 140.
The Gordon Coombs Trophy is awarded to the player, with a handicap of 10 and over, with the best scratch score over the two rounds. This was won by long standing member John Prigg with a 166 combined total. The 18 hole stableford event was won by Richard Flood with a total of 40 stableford points.

Adam and his team put on some fantastic food for all the competitors and a big thank you must also go to John for expertly acting as a starter and Joe for producing the scoreboard and helping with entering the scores on the day. Adam and his team also produced an excellent summer buffet.

Farewell Steve Barr

As captains, stewards and members have come and gone, one person at London Scottish has remained - Steve!

After many years of service, he has decided to hang up his keys to the Pro Shop and hand over to his brother Matthew. Whether you have been a member of London Scottish for 30 years or 3 months, you will agree that Steve is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk into the courtyard.

Although it’s debateable whether he’s played 18 holes at LSGC since Queen Elizabeth first sat on the throne, the club and the course have always been his priority, working hard behind the scenes with the various captains, committees, stewards and greenkeepers over the years to make us all proud to be a member at London Scottish Golf Club.

I hope you join us in wishing Steve all the best for the future and welcoming Matthew back to the club as Head Professional and Secretary - thank you for everything Steve!
